MSNBC’s liberal media bubble burst recently when a key witness from the Trump impeachment hearings switched sides, leaving their host in shock.

Former U.S. Ambassador Gordon Sondland, a central figure in Trump’s 2019 impeachment, surprised everyone when he renounced Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, instead expressing support for his former boss, Donald Trump, as reported by Trending Politics News.

During a panel on MSNBC hosted by Ari Melber, Sondland didn’t mince words, calling the Biden-Harris administration a “bigger threat to democracy” than anything Trump had ever done.

“I don’t stand by” my previous criticism of Trump, Sondland said, explaining that living under Biden’s policies for four years has drastically changed his perspective. He highlighted the administration’s failures. “I’ve now lived four years under the Biden-Harris policies, and I have to say that those policies are not only becoming an existential threat to our country’s way of life but to our allies as well.”

Melber’s reaction was nothing short of stunned, trying to grasp how Sondland had gone from a vocal critic of Trump to a supporter. “I’ll let you finish, but this is so striking,” Melber said, bewildered. Sondland calmly reiterated, “It is a yes for me,” clearly signaling his change of heart, a statement that sent shockwaves through the panel.

Sondland’s role in Trump’s impeachment focused on accusations that Trump pressured Ukrainian officials to investigate Hunter Biden in exchange for foreign aid. Initially, Sondland testified that there was “no quid pro quo,” but later he recalled a conversation suggesting that aid was tied to Ukraine’s actions.

Despite this history, Sondland now believes Biden and Harris have failed the country to a degree that far surpasses any concerns he once had about Trump.

In 2022, Sondland even released a book criticizing Trump’s handling of the January 6 Capitol events, calling it a major failure. But now, even in light of January 6, Sondland stated on MSNBC that the current administration’s “attacks on democracy” have eclipsed that day.

As he tried to elaborate on these concerns, Melber cut him off, pivoting to another guest in frustration.

Sondland’s surprising reversal comes as President Trump continues to gain support from military veterans. This week, his campaign released a letter signed by 200 retired generals and admirals, praising his foreign policy leadership.

Calling this election the “most important since our Nation was founded,” the letter emphasizes Trump’s ability to secure borders, strengthen the economy, and keep America safe. Known as Flag Officers 4 America, these military leaders back Trump for 2024, a stark contrast to endorsements for Kamala Harris from a slate of military officials last week.
