Former Fox News host Geraldo Rivera, who has long since left the network, made waves again last week with controversial comments during an appearance on CNN.

Rivera, who has been known for his polarizing views, boasted about taking on a much younger, stronger adversary in a physical fight.

This time, his target was conservative commentator and former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino.

Bongino, who has emerged as a vocal supporter of President-elect Donald Trump, is reportedly being considered for the position of Director of the Secret Service.

As a former NYPD officer and Secret Service agent, Bongino is seen as highly qualified for the role, and many view him as a reliable protector of the incoming president.

Bongino’s loyalty to Trump is well-known, and he has been an outspoken advocate for Trump’s administration over the years.

In contrast, Rivera, a longtime critic of Trump, has made headlines for his divisive comments.

On CNN Friday evening, Rivera was asked to discuss the possibility of Bongino leading the Secret Service. Instead of offering a measured opinion on the matter, Rivera launched into a personal attack on Bongino, claiming he would be willing to “square off” with him in a bar fight.

“I can’t imagine anyone who I feel more fiercely combative with than Dan Bongino,” Rivera said. “If we were walking into a bar and I was having a beer, we would probably square off.”

The statement quickly caught the attention of Bongino, who responded with a brutal reality check.

In a direct reply, Bongino pointed out that he is over 30 years younger than Rivera, 40 pounds heavier, and 3 inches taller.

The exchange between Rivera and Bongino comes as part of a long-running feud between the two.

Their disagreements are not new, as they have previously clashed on Fox News during several heated segments. One of the most memorable confrontations occurred during a debate on Hannity about the Black Lives Matter movement.

After being thoroughly outmatched by Bongino in the debate, Rivera became irate, calling Bongino a “son of a b**ch” and a “punk.”

Fortunately for Rivera, the physical distance between him and Bongino at the time meant there were no further consequences to his outburst.

However, the animosity between the two continues to make headlines, especially as Rivera seems to have made another round of inflammatory comments.

As for Bongino, his reputation as a staunch defender of Trump has made him a key figure in the conservative media landscape, and his candidacy to lead the Secret Service is gaining support.

Bongino is also known for his fierce criticism of the Biden-Harris administration, particularly regarding the influence of woke policies and the push for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within federal agencies.

Many see his potential leadership of the Secret Service as a way to return the agency to its core mission and free it from political influence.
