Incoming Border Czar Tom Homan, speaking from Eagle Pass, Texas, sharply criticized the current administration’s handling of U.S. border security, calling it a deliberate failure that has compromised national security.

Homan contrasted the Biden-Harris administration’s border policies with the strong measures implemented under President Donald Trump, which he argued had led to a historic decrease in illegal immigration.

In his speech, Homan made clear his frustration with the current state of the border, stating, “Look, you guys. You guys know me for the last four years. I wake up every morning pissed off about what this administration did to the most secure border in my lifetime.” Homan, who served under six presidents, pointed out the stark differences in the approach to border security during the Trump administration, emphasizing its success in reducing illegal immigration to a 45-year low.

“No one did better than President Trump. President Trump’s one bad ass president to secure this border at a level we’ve never seen before. Illegal immigration was down to a 45-year low. Illegal immigration is down between 83% and 90%. Unprecedented success,” Homan said.

He attributed these successes to Trump’s policies, which included securing the southern border and significantly reducing illegal crossings.

Homan further criticized President Joe Biden’s approach to the border, accusing him of intentionally leaving it unsecured. “Joe Biden’s the first president in the history of this nation who came into office and unsecured a border on purpose. This isn’t mismanagement, this isn’t incompetence. This is by design,” Homan declared.

He expressed optimism about Trump’s return to the White House, stating, “The first morning I worked with a smile on my face was the day after the election, when President Trump won, because he’s going to come back. He’s going to finish the job he started.”

In the same speech, Homan extended Thanksgiving wishes from Trump and discussed the incoming leadership of Secretary Kristi Noem, who he believes is the right person for the job. “I’ve met with her numerous times. She’s the right person at the right time for the right job. She gets it. She has a lot of great ideas of her own,” Homan said.

He praised her experience and leadership qualities, expressing confidence in her ability to secure the border and tackle the challenges ahead.

However, Homan also acknowledged the opposition that Trump’s administration will likely face.

He noted, “It’s a shame we have other governors and other mayors who are right out of the gate pushing back on President Trump.” Homan highlighted the importance of working together to ensure border security and prevent dangerous individuals from entering the country.

The former border czar emphasized that mass deportations would be a priority, calling it a necessary step to address the crisis at the southern border. “Let me be clear, there is going to be a mass deportation, because we just finished a mass illegal immigration crisis on the border,” Homan stated.

He also warned that anyone obstructing enforcement operations would face consequences: “I’ve said 100 times in the last week, don’t cross that line. It is a felony to knowingly harbor and conceal illegal aliens from immigration authorities. Don’t test us.”

Homan made clear that national security must be prioritized, saying, “We have created the biggest national security vulnerability in this nation, on the southern border. Like I said, 2 million known got aways. We don’t know how many unknown got aways already. Record number of people from terrorist watch lists.” He stressed the risk posed by individuals on terrorist watch lists crossing into the U.S., warning, “If you don’t think a single one of the 2 million came from countries that sponsor terror and could do us harm, then you’re an idiot.”

Calling for unity, Homan insisted, “Everybody should be on the same page—Republican, Democrat, Independent. This is a huge national security vulnerability, and everybody should be concerned with it.”
