Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is doubling down on his commitment to shake up the healthcare system, starting with Big Pharma’s grip on television advertising and the government.

In a recent statement, Kennedy outlined sweeping reforms he intends to pursue if elected, including eliminating pharmaceutical ads on TV, opening vaccine safety databases, and holding medical journals accountable for alleged collusion with pharmaceutical companies.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. speaks at the Tucker Carlson Live Tour finale at Desert Diamond Arena on Oct. 31, 2024, in Glendale.

Kennedy asserts that the President holds the power to make these changes without requiring Congress to act. “I’m not intimidated by the agencies. I know how they work, and I know how to change them, and most of those changes, you do not need Congress for the President,” Kennedy stated.

He pointed out that both former President Trump and President Biden had the authority to make these changes but chose not to act.

Kennedy criticized the pervasive influence of pharmaceutical companies over media and Congress, attributing much of it to direct-to-consumer advertising. “With a stroke of the pen, you can change back the rule that allows pharmaceutical advertisers to do direct-to-consumer ads on television. That’s one of the big problems,” he explained.

“That’s why one of the reasons we have this entrenched agency capture not only of Congress, because they control the airwaves. They control the evening news. 75% of the revenues for those evening news shows, or, you know, Anderson Cooper is coming from Pfizer and other pharmaceutical companies.”

Kennedy further argued that this advertising is a key factor in driving up healthcare costs and contributing to poor health outcomes in the U.S. “We spend three times more than any other country for pharmaceutical drugs because of all this advertising, and we have the worst health outcomes… I think we’re 79th in the world in health outcomes,” he said, highlighting that only the U.S. and New Zealand allow such ads.

Beyond TV ads, Kennedy vowed to make vaccine safety data more transparent. He plans to unlock the CDC’s vaccine safety database, which he claims is “kept in a lockbox like Fort Knox.”

According to Kennedy, this database contains critical information about the safety and efficacy of vaccines, including links to conditions like diabetes, peanut allergies, and neurological disorders. “I’ll open up that database on day one,” he pledged.

Kennedy also intends to take legal action against medical journals like The New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, and JAMA, accusing them of working with pharmaceutical companies to mislead the public. “You guys are part of a racketeering syndicate. You’re collaborating with these pharmaceutical industry [to] lie to the American public about the efficacy and safety of these products… we are going to sue you both civilly for damages, and we’re going to sue you criminally,” Kennedy warned.

With a self-proclaimed “100 things” on his to-do list, Kennedy declared his mission to “unravel the agency capture” that he believes has compromised the health and well-being of Americans.
