Gaetz resigned from his position earlier this month after being nominated for the role of attorney general.

However, he withdrew his nomination, citing concerns that the confirmation process might distract from Trump’s agenda.

In his endorsement, Trump praised Patronis as an effective and dedicated leader, particularly emphasizing his commitment to key conservative issues. “A fourth generation Floridian from the beautiful Panhandle, and owner of an iconic seafood restaurant, Jimmy has been a wonderful friend to me, and to MAGA,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “Should he decide to enter this Race, Jimmy Patronis has my Complete and Total Endorsement. RUN, JIMMY, RUN!”

Trump highlighted Patronis’ dedication to critical areas such as securing the border, strengthening the economy, and defending the Second Amendment.

He expressed confidence that Patronis would work tirelessly to advance these conservative values if he chooses to run for the seat.

While Patronis has not formally announced his candidacy for the House seat, he responded to Trump’s endorsement with enthusiasm, posting on X, “I’m here to serve.”

The endorsement from the president-elect signals strong support for Patronis, should he decide to enter the race.

The vacancy in the House seat created by Gaetz’s resignation has sparked interest among Florida Republicans, with many potential candidates eyeing the opportunity to represent the district.

Trump’s endorsement of Patronis, a key figure in Florida’s government, is seen as a significant boost to his potential candidacy.

Patronis, who has served as the state’s Chief Financial Officer, has built a strong reputation for his work on fiscal matters and his advocacy for conservative policies.

His endorsement from Trump could solidify his position as a strong contender for the seat, and many are watching closely to see whether he will officially announce his bid in the coming weeks.

As the race for the open House seat heats up, all eyes are on Patronis and whether he will take the plunge into national politics.

For now, his response to Trump’s endorsement suggests that he may be leaning toward a run.
