Kai Trump, the 17-year-old granddaughter of President-elect Donald Trump, opened up in a YouTube Q&A video posted Tuesday, sharing personal insights about her life, family, and future aspirations.
Kai, who has found herself in the public spotlight following her grandfather’s second presidential election victory, used the platform to connect with fans and answer their questions.
During the session, one fan asked Kai about her celebrity crush. After briefly consulting her phone for confirmation, she revealed her admiration for actor Drew Starkey, known for his role as Rafe Cameron on the Netflix series Outer Banks.

“His name is Drew Starkey, and he is on Outer Banks,” Kai said. She reiterated with enthusiasm, “All right, my celebrity crush is Drew Starkey from Outer Banks. I love him, so yeah, that’s my celebrity crush.” The high school junior added with a laugh, “Oh, my God, I’m blushing now!”
Starkey, 31, is rumored to be in a relationship with 24-year-old actress Odessa A’zion, but Kai made no further comments on the actor’s personal life.
Kai also spoke about her relationship with her grandfather, President-elect Trump, recalling cherished memories of golfing with him and supporting his 2024 campaign.
“I feel like it was really crucial for everyone around the world and to be there with him and be older and understand how important it was for him to win was really special,” Kai shared.
When asked about life lessons she has learned from her grandfather, she smiled and said, “He’s taught me to never give up, and if I have a dream, always try to achieve that dream and never stop trying because one day, it will happen. And he’s president of the United States again, so never give up on your dreams!”
Kai, the eldest child of Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump, also discussed her academic and athletic plans.
She has committed to the University of Miami, where she plans to major in business and play on the school’s golf team starting in 2026.
“I will major in business. I think that’s perfect for me,” she explained. “I wanted to be a doctor for the longest time, but I saw blood one day, and I just realized that I can’t do it.”

Kai shared that she has a weak stomach and cannot handle needles, which led her to change her career aspirations.
In August, Kai announced her commitment to the University of Miami on social media, expressing her excitement about joining the golf team. “I am beyond excited to give my verbal commitment to the University of Miami and play for the school’s golf team,” she wrote.
Kai also thanked her grandfather, parents, and coaches for their support. “I would like to thank my entire family for always encouraging and pushing me to be the best person I can possibly be,” she added. “I am super excited to be a Cane and represent the University of Miami. Gooo Canes!”
Kai is the eldest of five children from Donald Trump Jr. and Vanessa Trump, who divorced in 2019.
Her siblings include Donald III, 15, Tristan, 13, Spencer, 12, and Chloe, 10.
In other family news, Page Six recently reported that Donald Trump Jr. ended his engagement to Kimberly Guilfoyle and is now dating Bettina Anderson.
Kai’s Q&A offered a glimpse into her life as a rising athlete and member of a high-profile family, balancing personal aspirations with her unique public role.
