In a move that stunned many, President Joe Biden issued a full and unconditional pardon to his son, Hunter Biden, absolving him of federal crimes committed between 2014 and 2024.

This sweeping act of clemency comes after months of Biden publicly denying any intention to pardon his embattled son—a claim now exposed as an outright lie.

As reported by The Gateway Pundit, Hunter Biden, who was staring down serious federal charges, found himself entangled in a legal quagmire that included tax fraud and a felony gun case.

In December 2023, he was hit with a nine-count indictment in California’s Central District, detailing a “four-year scheme” to dodge over $1.4 million in taxes from 2016 to 2019.

The indictment, brought by Special Counsel David Weiss, outlined charges of tax evasion, failure to file or pay taxes, and submitting fraudulent returns.

Adding fuel to the controversy, Hunter also faced felony gun charges in Delaware.

These legal battles followed the collapse of a highly criticized sweetheart plea deal during the summer of 2023, leaving many questioning the integrity of the justice system under the Biden administration.

Yet, behind closed doors, Joe Biden had been mulling over this pardon for months. According to NBC News, discussions about pardoning Hunter began as early as June 2023, immediately after Hunter’s conviction.

Despite these private deliberations, Biden chose to mislead the public, instructing aides to maintain that he had no intention of intervening.

“The president has discussed pardoning his son with some of his closest aides at least since Hunter Biden’s conviction in June,” NBC News reported. “They said it was decided at the time that he would publicly say he would not pardon his son, even though doing so remained on the table.”

Biden’s press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, vehemently denied any plans for a pardon throughout 2023.

In one particularly fiery exchange, a reporter asked Jean-Pierre if the president might pardon his son. Her response was swift and unambiguous: “No.” When pressed further, she snapped, “I just said no!”

Despite these repeated denials, Biden’s final act as president was to grant his son full clemency, sparking outrage among critics who see the move as a gross abuse of power. The decision has fueled accusations of nepotism and hypocrisy, further tarnishing the already embattled Biden legacy.

This pardon underscores a recurring theme in Biden’s presidency—deceptive public messaging followed by actions that serve personal or political interests. The American people, once again, are left questioning the transparency and accountability of those at the highest levels of government.
