The ceremony took place at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Consani, who has modeled for high-profile brands such as Chanel, Stella McCartney, and Victoria’s Secret throughout the year, described the recognition as a “big step in the right direction.”

The model, who appeared on stage with bleach-blond hair and eyebrows, expressed gratitude to those who paved the way for the transgender community in fashion.

“I want to thank black trans women like Dominique Jackson, Connie Fleming, and Aaron Rose Philip, who really fought for the space I’m in today,” Consani said during the acceptance speech.

The model also credited parents for their support, urging other parents of transgender children to demonstrate similar encouragement. “Because change is more than possible — it’s needed,” Consani added.

Consani made headlines earlier this year in October by becoming the first transgender model to walk the runway at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

The milestone came after years of building a career in high fashion, which began with a debut for Tom Ford in 2021. Since then, Consani has modeled for renowned brands such as Alexander McQueen, Chanel, and Versace.

The model is signed with IMG Models, an agency that also represents top names in the industry, including Claudia Schiffer, Hailey Bieber, and Bella and Gigi Hadid.

This year, Consani participated in major events like Paris Fashion Week, modeling for the Ann Demeulemeester Spring-Summer 2024 collection.

Consani’s victory follows a broader trend of biological men being recognized in traditionally female-dominated spaces.

Other recent examples include Bailey Anne Kennedy, who won the Miss Maryland USA pageant in 2024; Kataluna Enriquez, crowned Miss Nevada USA in 2021; Rikkie Valerie Kolle, who won the Miss Netherlands title in 2023; and Marina Machete, who reached the top 20 in the 2023 Miss Universe pageant.

As discussions about representation and inclusion continue, Consani’s win at the Fashion Awards reflects ongoing changes in the fashion and beauty industries, with transgender individuals increasingly taking center stage in spaces historically reserved for women.
