The confrontation began after the vehicles of Kwesiah and the victim, 30-year-old Hailea Soares, were involved in a minor collision.

Witnesses reported that Kwesiah approached Soares’ vehicle, began banging on the roof, and then forcibly pulled her out of the car.

In a video recorded by a witness, Kwesiah can be seen lifting Soares and violently body-slamming her onto the ground.

Witnesses heard Soares shouting for Kwesiah to leave her alone moments before the attack.

Speaking to ABC 7, Soares described the terrifying moments of the assault. “By the time I realized I was in the air, I thought to myself, ‘I might die right now,’” she said.

“By the time I was realizing I was in the air, I had already hit the ground.” She recounted the sensation of hitting the ground and seeing blood dripping from her injuries.

When police arrived at the scene, Soares was found with multiple serious injuries, including a broken knee, a broken foot, an eye socket injury, and a significant skull injury.

She told CBS News, “I called my friend, and I started crying, saying, ‘I can’t feel my knees.’” Soares expressed concerns about her ability to walk again and noted the devastating impact the incident could have on her family.

Soares is a mother to two children, a one-year-old and an eight-year-old, and said her first thoughts were about her children’s safety. “I needed her [a friend] to go get my kids,” she said.

“All I could think was I’m probably never going to be able to walk again.”

According to social media profiles, Kwesiah is originally from Monrovia, Liberia, and studied at American International College.

Following his arrest, he was charged with assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury, vandalizing property, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Kwesiah’s bail was set at $2,500, with a court order to have no contact with Soares.

The relatively low bail has sparked concerns, given the severity of the assault.

Reflecting on the attack, Soares told reporters, “I don’t know if he was having a bad day, I don’t know what that was, but if that’s the type of person he is, then I don’t think he belongs in society with the rest of us.”

The incident has drawn attention to the dangers of road rage and the need for justice in cases of violent assaults.

As Soares recovers from her injuries, the legal process for Kwesiah’s charges will continue.
