Tensions between the teams escalated after a hard hit by Gash sent a Buffalo player to the ground, with his stick flying across the field.

Both removed their helmets and gloves before engaging in a physical fight as the crowd erupted.

Officials stood by, allowing the altercation to play out until Gash landed a decisive punch, sending Belter to the ground.

As Belter lay disoriented on the field, Gash attempted to throw another punch but was restrained by referees, who quickly called for medical assistance.

Gash, 25, continued to yell and gesture toward Belter, who struggled unsuccessfully to get back on his feet.

Elijah Gash comes from a family with a rich sports history.

His father, Sam Gash, is a former NFL fullback who won Super Bowl XXXV with the Baltimore Ravens.

Over his career, Sam Gash also played for the New England Patriots, Buffalo Bills, and New Orleans Saints, later transitioning into coaching roles with teams including the New York Jets and Detroit Lions.

Elijah’s brother, Isaiah Gash, is a former running back for the Michigan Wolverines.

Unlike his father and brother, Elijah has pursued a career in the National Lacrosse League (NLL), playing for the Toronto Rock.

Despite the intensity of the fight, the Toronto Rock, who were leading 10-9 at the time of the altercation, ultimately fell to the Buffalo Bandits in a close 15-13 loss.

The game underscored the rivalry between the two teams and highlighted the physical nature of the sport.

The brawl quickly gained attention online, with the Toronto Rock’s official social media account sharing a video of the fight alongside the caption, “Let the bodies hit the floor.”

The video captured the dramatic moment when Gash’s punch sent Belter to the ground, drawing cheers from the crowd.

While no immediate updates were provided on Zack Belter’s condition, the referees’ decision to intervene and call for medical attention reflected the severity of the altercation.

It remains unclear if any disciplinary action will be taken against Gash or Belter for their involvement in the fight.

This high-stakes brawl serves as a reminder of the intensity and rivalry inherent in professional sports, especially in games like lacrosse where physicality often plays a significant role.
