Comedian Bill Burr reiterated the debunked claim that Elon Musk performed a Nazi salute during President Donald Trump’s second inauguration in January, falsely asserting that the billionaire was giving Adolf Hitler a “shoutout.”
During a recent episode of The Breakfast Club, radio host Charlamagne Tha God brought up Musk’s wealth, stating, “He’s the richest man in the world… there’s nothing they can do to him.” Burr responded by questioning how Musk could “give a shoutout to Hitler.”
“What I don’t get is the amount of veterans—people in the armed services that died trying to stop Hitler, and then this guy comes in, you know, and does that, while being an immigrant, too,” Burr said.

“None of it, like, tracks how you could be the ‘support the troops,’ ‘America, love it or leave it,’ and then this guy comes in and gives a shoutout to Hitler,” he added.
Burr insisted that his remarks were not an attack on all Republicans.
“I’m not trashing Republicans. All Republicans did not sieg heil,” he said. “That guy did.”
Referring to Musk, Burr continued, “And I was just amazed that all liberals had was one day of outrage, and then they’re like, ‘Well, I guess that didn’t work,’ and then we just kind of move on.”
NEW: Comedian Bill Burr compares Elon Musk to Adolf Hitler and wonders why the armed services aren’t trying to stop him like they did with Hitler.
This man has completely lost it.

Burr’s claims are based on a widely circulated but incorrect narrative regarding Musk’s actions during Trump’s inauguration event at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., in January.
As Breitbart News previously reported, corporate media outlets claimed Musk had performed a “Nazi salute” at the event.
However, video evidence shows that Musk first placed his hand over his heart before extending his arm while saying, “My heart goes out to you.”
DO NOT BELIEVE THE MEDIA
The media is misleading you. Elon Musk never did a Nazi salute. Watch the full video: He simply gestured and said, “Thank you, my heart goes out to you.” pic.twitter.com/e3vBaLoVqx

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL), which has been critical of Musk in the past, acknowledged that while the gesture was “awkward,” it was not meant to be offensive or symbolic of Nazi ideology.
This is a delicate moment. It’s a new day and yet so many are on edge. Our politics are inflamed, and social media only adds to the anxiety.
It seems that @elonmusk made an awkward gesture in a moment of enthusiasm, not a Nazi salute, but again, we appreciate that people are on…

Despite these clarifications, Burr and Charlamagne Tha God repeated the false accusation, contributing to the spread of misinformation.
The repeated claims risk further division and unnecessary alarm among those who may not be aware of the facts surrounding the situation.
Musk has not publicly responded to Burr’s comments, but the ongoing circulation of the claim highlights the persistence of misleading narratives in political and cultural discourse.
Just a few years ago Bill Burr was making fun of the “everyone I don’t like is Hitler” people.
